Readathon and the Rock, Paper, Scissors challenge

Children in book character costumes gathered around the Circle, seen from behind

On 7 August the school came dressed as favourite book characters for our Readathon, and classes gathered to read together. The costume parade around the Circle was a joy to watch.

Later in the month, bracelets were bought, challenges issued and the whole Circle was at play for our Rock, Paper, Scissors challenge. Each child entered by buying bracelets, then challenged classmates, with the winner taking the loser's bracelet. Teachers handed out bonus bracelets for good sportsmanship along the way. Thank you to everyone who took part in the fundraiser.

Our High School learners also took part in an isiZulu cultural evening on 14 August, where 42 learners attended with Miss Kate Sigoge. Thank you to Samantha Willans, Mr Nxumalo and Mr Hlengwa for helping to make the trip a success.
